What pictures work best?
One clear subject with good light: a face, a pet, an animal, a building, a logo with shading. The relief maker reads how near each part looks, so pictures with real depth give the best reliefs.
How is this different from a lithophane?
A lithophane is thin and shows the picture when light shines through it. A relief is sculpted: the subject stands out from the back plate, so it reads from the front like a carving. Paint or dry-brush it to bring the detail out.
How should I print it?
Flat on its back, no supports, with 0.12-0.16 mm layers for smooth detail. A metallic dry-brush or wax finish makes the relief pop.
Can I sell what I print?
Yes, when you have the rights to the picture. Don't use other people's characters, logos or photos without permission.
