Quick answers. Still stuck? Email us and a person will reply.

Is STLShelf free?

Yes. During the beta every model is free to download with a free account. Paid models are coming, and the creator sets each price.

Why do I need an account to download?

It keeps downloads tied to real people, so creators see who enjoys their work, and it lets you rate models and share your prints.

Which file types are there?

STL, 3MF and OBJ. They work with every common slicer (Bambu Studio, PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, Cura and others).

How do I know a model fits my printer?

Each file shows its size in millimetres and whether it's watertight (no holes), measured automatically when it was uploaded. You can also turn it around in the 3D viewer.

What do the badges mean?

Print-verified: the creator posted a photo of a real print. Community Verified: three people shared photos of their own prints. Shelf Tested: we printed it ourselves. See the content guidelines.

How do ratings work?

Download a model, then rate it from 1 to 5 stars with an optional comment. You can change your rating any time. Top rated uses a weighted average, so a model with many good ratings ranks above one with a single 5-star rating.

What is "I made this"?

After downloading, post a photo of your print. A reviewer approves it, usually within a day, and it shows on the model page.

What can I do with a model?

It depends on its license, shown next to the download button. See licenses.

How do I sell my designs?

Create a creator account and upload. Every listing is reviewed, usually within 24 hours. See selling on STLShelf.

Something looks copied or broken. What do I do?

Use Report a listing, or the DMCA process if it copies your work.

How do I close my account?

Settings → Close account. It deletes your profile, ratings, makes and history. Questions: support@stlshelf.com.
