Free Name Plate Generator: custom text to STL
Type a name or a word and get a plate with raised letters, ready to print. Desk signs, door tags, shelf labels, gift tags: set the sizes in millimetres and download the STL.
How to use it
- Type your text. Capital letters, numbers and common symbols are supported.
- Set the letter pixel size. It sets how big the letters are.
- Set the plate thickness and how far the letters stand up.
- Download the STL and print it flat, no supports needed.
Printing tips
- For two colours, add a filament change at the layer where the letters start (the plate thickness).
- Letters 2 mm tall on a 3 mm plate read well from across a room.
- Use a 0.4 mm nozzle and a letter pixel of at least 1 mm for sharp letters.
Questions
How do I print the letters in a different colour?
In your slicer, add a colour or filament change at the height where the plate ends (the plate thickness you set). Everything above prints in the second colour.
Do I need supports?
No. The plate prints flat on the bed and the letters build straight up from it.
Can I add a keychain hole?
Yes, use the keychain generator, which adds a hole at the end of the plate.
