DMCA & takedown policy

Last updated October 18, 2026

Creators' work is the whole point of STLShelf. If a model here copies your design, tell us and we will act quickly, usually within 48 hours.

Report a model

Email dmca@stlshelf.com with a notice that includes:

  1. The work you own: a link to your original design or a description of it.
  2. The STLShelf model page(s) you believe copy it.
  3. Your name, address, phone number and email.
  4. This statement: "I have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law."
  5. This statement: "The information in this notice is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, I am the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf."
  6. Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name works).

Knowingly false reports can make you liable for damages, so please only report work you own or represent.

What happens next

  • We review the notice and, if it is complete, remove or disable the model.
  • We tell the creator who uploaded it and send them a copy of the notice.
  • Every notice and action is logged.

If your model was removed (counter-notice)

If you believe your model was removed by mistake, email dmca@stlshelf.com with:

  1. The model that was removed and where it appeared.
  2. This statement: "Under penalty of perjury, I have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification."
  3. Your name, address and phone number.
  4. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district where STLShelf may be found), and that you will accept service from the person who sent the original notice.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

We forward valid counter-notices to the person who reported the model. If they don't file a court action within 10 to 14 business days, we may restore the model.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of creators who receive repeated valid copyright notices. Two upheld notices lead to a warning and review of all their models; a third closes the account.

Other problems with a model

For a broken file, a misleading listing, or a trademark or logo concern, email support@stlshelf.com with the model page link and what's wrong.
